![]() Again, I loved the game and had it ended the way i think it should have, it would've been my favourite game ever, but the ending was so anticlimactic that I just can't get over it. I just have a feeling like they intended for it to be a mystery story and then realised that they don't have the money to finish it as intended, or they were on a deadline and had to wrap things up, which just made the entire experience dissatisfying. When you make things in your story up as you go along and change things at the final minute, it always shows (for example: Itachi being the good guy in Naruto was not the original plan, neither was the ending of I Am Legend). Delilah and Henry leave in separate rescue helicopters. They built it up so phenomenally and the actual ending is so rushed and leaves so many plot holes and dead ends that it couldn't have been the original idea. Firewatch ends with the fire (presumably set by Ned) engulfing the forest. An especially hot and dry summer has everyone on edge. Perched high atop a mountain, it’s your job to look for smoke and keep the wilderness safe. And yes, I realise that the excuse for the ending is "It's a simple story about regular people avoiding their responsibilities", but honestly it just sounds like a cop-out. In Firewatch you play as a man named Henry who has retreated from his messy life to work as a fire lookout in the Wyoming wilderness. It was an incredibly built-up mystery story and I had this crazy idea of there being multiple actors and couldn't figure out how the pieces all fit together. The game was incredible up until the final day.
